The Civil Services Examination (CSE) could be a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit candidates for various civil services post of the govt of India that features the Indian administrative Service (IAS), Indian foreign Services (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), among others.
The UPSC exam is conducted in 3 stages and that they are:
1. i. prelim that consists of 2 objective-type papers (General Studies Paper-I and CSAT Paper-II)
2. ii. Mains examination consisting of 9 papers of standard (essay) kind
3. iii. Finally, the mental test or interview called personality test also.
Civil Services also selects candidates for the Civil Services posts as well as the Indian Forest Services post. The whole method of examination from the notification of the prelim to the declaration of the ultimate results takes roughly a year.
